[Malaysia] Automatic Immigration Control | Digital Arrival Card (MDAC)

The Malaysian Immigration Department announced that from June 1, 2024, 53 countries will be added to the existing 10 countries, and automatic immigration screening will be available when holders of passports from these countries enter Malaysia. Those eligible to use automatic immigration screening

53 countries have been added to the existing 10 countries, so passport holders from a total of 63 countries* can use automatic immigration screening when entering Malaysia.

Conditions for using automatic immigration screening

  • Your passport must have at least 6 months of validity remaining from the date of entry.
  • You must complete and submit the Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) within 3 days of entering Malaysia.

*Malaysian permanent residents or long-stay visa holders do not need to complete the Digital Arrival Card (MDAC).


How to complete a Digital Arrival Card (MDAC)

  1. Go to the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) official website.

  2. Click the REGISTER button to apply for a Digital Arrival Card (MDAC).

  4. Birth date (DD/MM/YYYY)

  8. Confirm your email address
  9. Country code (excluding ‘+’)
  10. Check country code
  11. Mobile phone number (excluding ‘0’ if the first digit is 0)
  12. Check your mobile phone number
  1. Date of entry into Malaysia
  2. Malaysia departure date
  3. Malaysia entry route (air/land/sea)
  4. Countries visited before entering Malaysia (most recent)
  5. Air/sea/transportation flight number used upon entry
  6. Where to stay in Malaysia
  7. Address of item 18
  8. Note to item 18
  9. Poem in item 18
  10. Zip code
  1. Click the SUBMIT button to submit your application for a Digital Arrival Card (MDAC).
  2. Once your Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) registration is complete, a registration completion notification will be sent to the email address you entered.
  3. The PIN code in Email is entered when printing the registration information as PDF.

Notes regarding Digital Arrival Card (MDAC)

  • The Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) must be registered 3 days prior to entering Malaysia.
    If you have not registered your Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) before entering the country, register it using your mobile phone (or computer provided) before immigration.
    You can check the application link using the QR code near the immigration counter.
  • A Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) is required each time you enter Malaysia.

How to register for automatic immigration screening

  1. We clear customs at general immigration checkpoints at airports/ports in Malaysia.
    Automatic immigration screening is not available when entering Malaysia for the first time.
    Be sure to register for automatic immigration screening at the general immigration counter.
  2. At the general immigration checkpoint, you go through the fingerprint registration process and register for automatic immigration screening.
  3. Present your applied and registered Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) to the immigration officer before entering the country.
    Presented as a mobile/paper printout, etc.
  4. Once automatic immigration screening is successfully registered, you can then go through the automatic immigration screening booth when entering and leaving Malaysia.
